ISBT-Equine Bowen treats winning horse

Asian Eventing Championship a winner for ISBT’s Suzanne Baker
ISBT-Equine Bowen Therapy teacher Suzanne Baker was physical therapist, coach and trainer of the winning horse in the first ever Asian Eventing Championships held recently in Thailand.

The Gold Medal performance by Annie Ho on Supercombed, a 13 year old former Group One racehorse, has inspired the Hong Kong based team to establish a strategy to prepare for possible  inclusion in the Olympic Team in Rio De Janeiro.

Suzanne said that there was a long way to go before they would be confident of being on the Olympic team but the Asian Championship performance was ‘extremely encouraging.’

“The horse and rider combination has come together really well with Annie and Supercombed and the performance in Thailand was excellent. We couldn’t be more pleased,” she said, “But we have a lot more work to do before Rio where the standard will be a step up.”

Suzanne is no stranger to world class events, having been physical therapist for previous Asian Games events and physical therapist on the Physiotherapy Team at the Beijing Olympics.

Suzanne has been teaching ISBT-Equine and Canine Bowen Therapy in Australia, Germany, Austria and ISBT-Canine Bowen Therapy in Hong Kong.

Courses will be held in Hong Kong in October 2013, Australia in February/March 2014, and in Germany and Portugal in 2014.
